Affiliate Disclosure

Some of the links on TechMozz are affiliate links. If you buy or sign up through one, we may earn a commission. It costs you nothing extra, and it does not change what we recommend.

That is the whole thing. The rest of this page is the detail.

What an affiliate link is

When we link to a product, that link sometimes carries a tracking code. If you click it and go on to buy, the retailer or vendor pays us a percentage. You pay the same price either way — the commission comes out of their marketing budget, not your pocket.

Where a link carries a discount not available on the public page, we say so.

What it does not affect

  • Which product we pick. The main pick in a guide is the one we would tell a friend to buy. It is frequently not the one that pays most.
  • Inclusion. Several products we recommend pay us nothing at all. They appear on the same terms, because leaving out the right answer would make the site useless.
  • Criticism. Every review has a “what annoyed us” section and a “who should not buy this” section, and those apply equally to our highest-paying partners.
  • The price you pay. Never.

Where you will see disclosure

  • On every page with affiliate links, near the top, before the first link.
  • Here, in full.
  • In the footer of every page.

Advertising

Separately from affiliate links we display advertising. Ads are served by third parties and are visually distinct from our content. We do not control which ads appear, and an advertiser appearing beside a review has no bearing on it. Ad networks may use cookies; see our privacy policy.

Supplied review units

We buy review units at retail wherever possible. Where a brand supplies a unit or an extended trial, the review says so in its opening section. It does not change the score, and we have published critical reviews of supplied products.

Why we tell you all this

Partly because disclosure of material connections is required. Mostly because the site only works if you trust it. Reviews are worthless if you suspect the ranking was bought, so the only sustainable position is to be open about the money and let you judge the work.

If anything here ever reads like it was written for the commission rather than for you, tell us.
